In addition to the colourful new mascaras I already shared, the new Dior Diorshow Collection 2016 includes liners, brow products, and the feature of today’s post, the Dior Diorshow Mono Eyeshadows. These single eyeshadows are available in 8 new permanent shades in Canada and I have Front Row, Backstage, Atmosphere and Power to swatch and share with you.
In terms of packaging, the Dior Diorshow Mono Eyeshadows are classic, chic Dior. Each comes in its own little velvet pouch, and the eyeshadow compacts themselves are pretty large but also sturdy. They have a “press” open snap on the front which means you don’t have to struggle with opening it or breaking any nails, and it’s one of those touches I just love from Dior.
Inside the compact, the Dior Diorshow Mono Eyeshadows each have a large mirror, a little applicator with foam on one end and a brush on the other, and of course the shadow. Each Mono contains 2 grams of product. That’s plenty of product but the packaging is bigger than necessary, and as somebody with a larger-than-average makeup collection I do wish it was a bit smaller, preferably without the applicator since I tend to use a brush.
The Dior Diorshow Mono Eyeshadow in Front Row is a cool brown satin (described as a mauve, but it looks pretty brown to me), Backstage is a sheer icy pink satin, Atmosphere is a a cool-toned silvery purple satin and Power is a dark warm eggplant satin. All shades have a very creamy formula and are must more pigmented than the average Dior Diorshow 5 Couleurs Palette. The only shade that’s slightly more sheer is Backstage.
I used all four shades in a gradient eye look above. I used Backstage on the inner corner, leading into Atmosphere with Front Rose all over the lid and Power in the crease. I really love the way these pinks and purples pair together!
Here’s my full look featuring the Dior Diorshow Mono Eyeshadows. These have a firmer texture in the pan but they apply very smooth and blendable, and also last quite well without fallout. I did get a bit of creasing by the end of the day, but they wore very well without primer (although a little primer never hurt anyone!)
Although all the shades I have are satin, I’m actually missing the shade I am lusting over the most from the line though, Cosmopolite, which is the only one with a “lamé” (almost foiled) finish instead of a satin and looks absolutely stunning.
Overall, I definitely think that the Dior Diorshow Mono Eyeshadows are worth checking out even if you haven’t been a fan of their eyeshadow formula in the past. These shades are pigmented, blendable, and there’s a lovely wearable range of colours available. Plus, there’s something always so undeniably chic about Dior!
Do you have a favourite shade from these Dior Diorshow Mono Eyeshadows? I’m so boring but I think mine is Front Row, although Atmosphere was a close second!
