I gave an absolutely rave review to the gorgeous but limited edition Dior Diorshow Kohl Stick Pearly Turquoise shade back in April which is a part of the Dior Summer Tie Dye Collection, and now I’m lucky enough to be back with three of the permanent shades. I have the Dior Diorshow Kohl Stick Smoky Black*, Smoky Brown* and Smoky Grey* shades, and there is a fourth shade, Smoky Blue, also available.
The Dior Diorshow Kohl Sticks all have the same jumbo crayon packaging, which is both convenient (no sharpening needed!) and sleek. I love the silver Dior accents. These obviously aren’t meant for a super thin line, but you can use them as an eyeliner, an eyeshadow or as a cream base for other products. You can also smudge or smoke it out for a softer look.
I’m going to be honest and say the Dior Diorshow Kohl Stick has probably the best formula I have ever tried, because not only are they creamy and opaque, but they also last all day. They are so easy to apply and lovely to apply. The shades are also colour-coded on the base to make it easy to tell them apart without removing the cap.
Dior Diorshow Kohl Stick Smoky Black is a soft matte black that is completely opaque in a single swipe with barely any pressure applied. I know we all have a trillion black eyeliners in our collections, but I would happily toss the crummy ones and keep this instead. I think it would also be gorgeous with a shade-shifting shadow applied on top!
Dior Diorshow Kohl Stick Smoky Brown is a dark matte brown which again, flawless formula and all that good stuff. It is a great option for something softer than black. It is amazing for green eyes, or paired with neutral shadows like bronze.
Dior Diorshow Kohl Stick Smoky Grey is a dark metallic grey, and I did find it to be a little different than the other three shades I had tried. It has a similar shimmery finish to Pearly Turquoise, but although I think it is very pretty, it is a bit smudgy in comparison to the other shades so it doesn’t last quite as long.
In the above look I’m wearing all three shades blending into each other, starting with Dior Diorshow Kohl Stick Smoky Grey on the inner corner, blended into Smoky Brown and then Smoky Black. I found it really easy to get a straight line, and the creaminess of the product means it doesn’t skip or miss places. I am also wearing Smoky Grey on the lower lash line, which is my favourite way to wear Pearly Turquoise as well.
I think that if you have lids where you often have a hard time getting an even application, maybe because of fine lines, you should really consider trying one of the Dior Diorshow Kohl Sticks. Lasting power wasn’t quite as flawless on Smoky Grey, but overall these are an easy favourite in a makeup collection.
If you want a creamy eye product usually you would have to give up lasting power but with the Dior Diorshow Kohl Stick you get both! Personally, I am really hoping they release a nude shade next.
