I find myself reaching for glosses way more in the summer time, and if you’re looking for a new one there are two limited editions shades being launched as a part of the Dior Tie Dye Summer 2015 Collection. I have the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer in Beige Sunrise* and Pink Sunset* to share today as well as my thoughts on the formula overall.
Both the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer in Beige Sunrise and Pink Sunset are fairly sheer glosses with a faint tint and a very shiny formula. They come in gorgeous traditional Dior packaging with a clear base that allows you to distinguish the shade (and how much you have left). There’s a light vanilla scent which I could barely notice, and definitely not once I applied it.
Dior Addict Lip Maximizer in Beige Sunrise is a slightly milky nude that is very sheer. Both shades are instantly comfortable on the lips, and there is absolutely no tackiness. However, the formula is intended to plump your lips, and soon after applying you begin to notice the cooling effect. I find that it varies in how long it lasts. I have tried some uncomfortable, very strong, lip plumpers in the past, and these are not at all like that. It reminds me more of the Blistex feeling, which is nice and not at all painful, but it’s also not for every one.
The Dior Addict Lip Maximizer in Pink Sunset is a bright but sheer pink. I noticed that both shades did help my lips look more hydrated and slightly fuller, minimizing the appearance of the fine lines, although part of that effect comes from using such a shiny gloss. The glosses last about two hours, and I find them to be hydrating the whole time. Because they are so sheer, they are obviously very easy to reapply without a mirror.
The Dior Addict Lip Maximizer is meant to be used for weeks in order to full notice an effect from the collagen, so I can’t say for sure how well it works in that regard yet. Although I don’t love these quite as much as the Dior Addict Tie Dye Lipsticks from the same collection, the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer in Beige Sunrise and Pink Sunset are lovely glosses that look great on my lips and are also very hydrating to wear.
Have you ever used a plumping gloss? What do you think of them?
