Demeter Fragrance Snow

Winter is over! At least, that’s what the calender claims. I’m writing this post at home on a snow day following a blizzard warning… so perhaps Nova Scotia didn’t get the memo. That said, I decided today was the perfect day to review Demeter Fragrance Snow* before spring creeps up and it’s out of season.

1-Demeter Fragrance Snow 5As soon as I smelled it, Demeter Fragrance Snow reminded me of another Demeter Fragrance I’ve reviewed– perhaps not surprisingly, considering it is called Frozen Pond (reviewed here). While the two scents definitely share some notes, Frozen Pond is a much cleaner, fresher scent and it’s the one I prefer. Demeter Fragrance Snow isn’t the scent of pristine, untouched snow. To me it smells more like snow that’s melted a bit, or rain with the earthy undertone of wet ground. The earth component makes it less wearable for me than Demeter Frozen Pond (which I love).

In terms of lasting power, Demeter Fragrance Snow is pretty good, especially for a cologne spray, as it sticks around for about 6 to 7 hours on my skin although it does fade a bit. However, personally this is a scent I probably wouldn’t wear on my skin unless it was layered with something else, although like all of the Demeter Fragrances it makes an excellent room spray.

1-Demeter Fragrance Snow 3I know I sound repetitive but if you’re looking for a wintery, clean, refreshing scent to wear, I would definitely go for Frozen Pond over Demeter Fragrance Snow because it lacks the earthy component. However if description appeals to you, it is definitely worth giving Snow a smell.

I have one more wintery scent before I move onto fresh spring scents and I can only hope the weather outside has caught up to me by then!

What’s your favourite wintery scent?
