There are lots of brands that make lovely, wearable, traditional perfumes–and I love them. But what I think is so cool about scents like Demeter Fragrance Fireplace* is how unexpected they are. Granted, it may not you want to wear to the office but if you’re looking to recreate that smokey, fireplace memory, this is definitely the cologne for you. When I spray Demeter Fragrance Fireplace, the very first scent I get is alcohol, but that changes quickly afterwards into the exact fragrance it promises. To me, this really does smell like a fireplace, there’s a hint of smoke and wood and something dark and a little musky, but at the same time just a tad sweet. I think this is more of the scent of a fire that has been put out, or one that has burned down quite a lot, than one that is in full flames.
Demeter Fragrance Fireplace is definitely a cozy scent and although for me it falls into the “I’m not sure I would wear it as a perfume”, it is incredibly realistic and intriguing. I’m not quite sure what I will do with this scent, but I imagine it would be very useful if you wanted to trick somebody into believing you’d just had a fire going–or if you wanted to temporarily replicate that feeling for yourself.
In terms of lasting power, I can get about 3 hours of wear out of Demeter Fragrance Fireplace, although by the end the scent has faded significantly.
If you’re looking for a smokey, woody, scent that is truly reminiscent of a fireplace, I definitely recommend checking out Demeter Fragrance Fireplace. If you’re more like me and just looking for a scent that is delicious and edible, than check out my review of Vanilla Cookie Dough instead!
