Last time I stopped by DAVIDsTEA was in time to grab their fall collection (which I had to grab all of, you can check it out here) but now it’s Winter/Holiday tea time so of course that meant another trip, specifically made on the morning that their special Advent calender was released. So yeah, it was quite a big DAVIDsTEA haul!
First up is the reason I made the visit, the DAVIDsTEA advent calender. Having just finished up the first week of it, I can definitely tell you it is 100% worth it. There were quite a few (okay more than half) of the teas that I already own, but it was just so much fun to open up and I am enjoying all the tiny tins. I will definitely have to grab this again next year, if I can get it in time. The value is also great, at about $35 for 240 g of tea, with most teas being around $13 for 100 g when sold separately, without all this cute packaging. I actually think making somebody else a tea advent calender and swapping with them would be just as fun though, so maybe I’ll have to try that instead next year!
In addition to the calender, my DAVIDsTEA haul including 8 teas, 7 of which are limited edition and one which was sitting around on the counter when I was smelling/purchasing the other teas and tempted me into giving it a try. Like always, I bought 20 g of each tea so I could test it out without making too big of an investment. Then I’ll know which ones I love for the future. Although at this rate I’ll just be finishing my current stash forever…
I picked up Alpine Punch (Winter Collection), Gingerbread (Holiday Collection), Santa’s Secret (Holiday Collection) and Choconut Oolong (Winter Collection). Teas belonging to the Winter Collection should be around till about March I think, unless they sell out first, while the Holiday Collection is more festively named and is only around for the Holiday season I think.
I also grabbed Spiced Fig (Winter Collection), Sleigh Ride (Holiday Collection), White Chocolate Frost (Winter Collection) and Movie Night (Permanent, but tempted me anyway). There’s one tea I didn’t grab from the Winter Collection, Coffee Cake, because I thought it would taste like coffee a bit, but apparently it doesn’t (oh names that mislead me) so I may end up grabbing it in the end. It has cherries, pineapple and black tea in it.
Well those are the most recent additions to my tea stash. I’m still being quite good about not buying tea asides from Limited Edition flavours, but somehow my collection has expanded anyway (I did inherit quite a few teas). I may have to do an updated tea stash (click here to check out my old one). Let me know if you’re like to see one!
Do you have any shopping weaknesses (besides makeup)? Let me know what you think of my DAVIDsTEA haul and there’s anything you want me to review first!
