I talk a lot about how much I love lip crayons, and the first one I ever tried was from Clinique! (It was the shade Woppin Watermelon). Today I have two other colours from the original line of lip crayons, Clinique Chubby Stick in Bountiful Blush* and Plumped Up Pink*
There are actually several different kinds of Clinique Chubby Sticks, including an intense version, a baby tint, one for the eyes and one for the cheeks. I’ll have reviews of all them coming in the next couple weeks, but I thought it was best to start off with the original! These don’t require a sharpener and have classic packaging that shows the shade along with cute names. As you would expect from Clinique, there is no scent or flavour to the product. The Clinique Chubby Stick in Bountiful Blush and Plumped Up Pink both provide a semi-pigmented amount of colour, basically the equivalent of a strongly tinted balm with a similar formula to them.
My favourite shades are always a rosy brown neutrals and Clinique Chubby Stick in Bountiful Blush is a perfect match. It gives my lips a tint of colour (very, My Lips But Better) and is easy to apply without a mirror. It has a glossy finish to it and feels comfortable and balmy on the lips. I find that it smooths over any rough patches on my lips, which honestly look in better shape in these pictures than they actually are. Lasting power is around two hours for me, and these won’t last through a meal.
The second shade is brighter, but the fact that it’s more like a pigmented balm makes Clinique Chubby Stick in Plumped Up Pink still wearable for me. It’s a raspberry pink shade that I see myself reaching for a ton during the warm months. I still think that it’s easy enough to apply that it won’t matter when the “point” of the crayon wears down, and although I am able to apply without a mirror, I do prefer to double-check.
Clinique Chubby Stick in Bountiful Blush and Plumped Up Pink are both wearable, comfortable shades in a convenient format. I love that there is no flavour, and there’s a fantastic range of shades available. My blogging friends know how excited I was to get these, and I am one hundred percent thrilled with the result! The only issue is, there are so many other shades…
Have you ever tried a Clinique Chubby Stick?
