First there were lips, then there were eyes, and the latest crayon-format release from Clinique? It’s for your cheeks! The Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm* was released in four shades and features the same retractable chubby stick format as the lip shades, but with a much wider bullet with a slightly rounded top for ease applying either from the tube directly, or with a brush.
Also, sorry about the different lighting situations. I don’t have lighting that works for selfies, so the best I can do is trying to grab one before work in the mornings, but I do try to show you makeup applied whenever I can because that’s really the best judge of how it looks, and as you can tell, the Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm has a very natural, lovely finish in all four shades!
Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in Amp’d up Apple is peachy beige shade that is the most subtle of the four. However all the shades give a really natural finish and it’s very easy to blend it or apply more depending on the amount of pigmentation you want. As a cream blush this is quite moisturizing, so if you have very oily skin the lasting power may not be fantastic, but you can always help it along by topping with a powder blush.
None of the shades have any shimmer, including Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in Robust Rhubarb, a pinky peach. This is definitely the most summery shade for me of the four, although you could wear it year round. To apply these blushes, I just dab them directly onto my cheeks and blend in with my fingers. However, you could also use a stippling brush to apply. I really love the way this shade looks in the photo, so I know it will definitely be reached for plenty.
Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in Rosy Poly Rosy was actually the shade that first caught my attention after seeing it gushed over by Essie Button, and it’s a bright rosy pink. It gives a very natural pink cheek that is perfect year-round. These blushes really just glide over your cheeks, and provide a slight sheen when applied, which is probably why they look so good!
The final shade is the Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in Plumped Up Peony, which is a dark berry shade that is also my favourite at the moment. It adds that perfect flush to your cheeks for fall! The format is incredibly convenient for travel or touch-ups, and although the wear varies slightly by shade, darker ones like this tend to last most of the day on me.
I spend a lot of time talking about how much I love lip crayons, and cream blushes, but this is the first time I’ve time them combined into one product and it is twice as awesome. The Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balms come in a natural range of shades that give a gorgeous glow to your cheeks. If you can only grab one shade at the moment, my personal recommendation for the cooling weather is definitely Plumped Up Peony!
