I have been lusting over the Clinique Cheek Pop Blushes since they were first released and the addition of eight new shade this summer had me lovingly swatching them last time I was at Sephora. Three of those new shades have made their way into my life Clinique Cheek Pop Nude Pop*, Melon Pop* and Rosy Pop*. All I can say is…I want more.
Clinique Cheek Pop Blushes come in a hard, round, clear plastic container with a blush resembling a flower inside. Although the design will wear away eventually, it’s imprinted enough to last awhile. I love that you can see what colour you’re getting, and also that they are so adorable. I want a whole garden of these flowers!
The three Clinique Cheek Pop Blush shades I have, Nude Pop, Melon Pop and Rosy Pop, vary in their level of pigmentation but they all have an almost hard but creamy consistency to them. While I had to build up Nude Pop and Melon Pop for the swatches, Rosy Pop was really pigmented right away.
Clinique Cheek Pop Nude Pop Blush (05) is soft, light slightly peachy brown that has the most shimmer and least pigmentation of the three shades. Even though it looks quite shimmery swatched, it doesn’t look that way on the skin, and it gives a really natural look with a slight glow. I apply this shade (and Melon Pop) with a dense brush to build them up a bit, and I absolutely love the result.
On much darker skintones, Clinique Cheek Pop Nude Pop Blush would probably mostly provide a glow, but on lighter skintones this is an easy-to-wear shade that’s impossible to overdo and looks great with any makeup look.
Clinique Cheek Pop Melon Pop Blush (08) is a warm peachy-pink coral that gives a natural glow to the cheeks. It is slightly more pigmented than Nude Pop, and it is buildable, but definitely still a shade that would work best on fair to medium skintones. However, Clinique does have quite a few darker options like Rosy Pop and Cola Pop available.
In terms of wear, I found all three shades I tried lasted the full day on me (about 8 hours) which was really impressive, especially during summer wear. I love how natural they look applied, with the perfect amount of glow, and Clinique Cheek Pop Melon Pop Blush is another shade that is impossible to overdo.
Clinique Cheek Pop Blush Rosy Pop (13) is an intensely pigmented medium rose pink with a warm sheen to it. I definitely used a much lighter hand when applying this shade, but it was still very easy to apply because it was very smooth and not at all powdery.
If you are looking for a gorgeous pink that is perfect year-round, Clinique Cheek Pop Blush Rosy Pop is a great option!
I can’t believe how long I’ve been in love with the Clinique Cheek Pop Blushes and not had any, but now that I’ve added Nude Pop, Melon Pop and Rosy Pop to my collection I just keep staring at swatches of more shades. I love all three of these options and I think Ginger Pop or Cola Pop are next on my list.
Have you tried (and therefore fallen in love with) the Clinique Cheek Pop Blushes yet?
