Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer comes in a foundation sized bottle with an oversized doe-foot applicator wand that holds some product in its tip. To apply, I dab it onto my face and then blend it in with my fingers. I found that the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer is quite thick and dry, so applying it reminded me a lot of the Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation and it worked best as a foundation when I applied it to one area at a time. Of course, that is not really an issue when using the product as a concealer.
I have the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer in 5 Fair and 6 Ivory, which both looked a little scary with how dark they were when swatched. I ended up using Fair, and although it wasn’t the right shade, it wasn’t a horrible match (like that one time…) either. I found that as I blended it in, and then also, as it had more time to dry/set, it became a better match. I also applied it down my neck, so I could leave the house this time!
Exactly as you’d expect with something meant to be used as both a foundation and a concealer, the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer is quite high coverage and it really did cover up any blemishes or redness. It’s also buildable if you need to add even more coverage to a particular area. However, where blemishes were healing I did find that it clung to dry patches a little. For that reason, and because of how dry it was when applying, I don’t think this would work well on dry skin (and Clinique doesn’t recommend it for that either).
I was also really impressed by the wear of the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer, which had only worn away a little at the end of the day, and I hadn’t even set it with powder. This is definitely one of the longest-lasting foundations I’ve tried.
I do recommend getting a sample of the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer, just to make sure the shade is correct but also that it works with your skin type. However, if you are looking for a high coverage, long-lasting foundation that you don’t need to follow up with a concealer, this may just be the match for you!
