Now that I’ve shared my Scents for Winter picks, it’s time to delve into those spring fragrances, starting with the the very seasonal Chloe See by Chloe Si Belle*, a brand new and limited edition introduction to the See by Chloe line.
The bottle shape of Chloe See by Chloe Si Belle matches the previous two fragrances in shape, but it is the first with the striped design. I love when fragrances match, it makes them so nice next to each other. For some reason, this bottle actually really reminds me of a strawberry, which made me think this would be a fruity scent and that is definitely not the case. This fragrance is all about the florals!
Although I have tried two previous Chloe iterations, Chloe Roses De Chloé Eau de Toilette and Chloe Eau de Parfum, I have not tested out the original See by Chloe to compare to Chloe See by Chloe Si Belle. This fragrance is very strong on the white florals, starting with neroli and birch leaf, with the strongest note being the heart of gardenia, although there is a touch of orange blossom, all on a base of white musk. The other notes help complicated Chloe See by Chloe Si Belle, but this is predominately a gardenia fragrance.
The lasting power on Chloe See by Chloe Si Belle is excellent, it starts to fade after about 8 hours. The scent itself makes me think that moment when you breathe directly into a flower, so it is a little too strong for me to love, but if you love gardenia, this would be perfect. Personally, I’ll be sticking to Chloe Roses De Chloé Eau de Toilette instead, because if you’ve been around Writing Whimsy awhile you probably know, that’s my favourite floral!
