I’ve spent a lot of time talking about how lovely the Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadows are, but the brand actually has a whole range of gorgeous products and next on my wishlist were definitely the lipsticks. There are a few different formulas–including a brand new Hot Lips I’m super interested in–but the one I’m sharing today is the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Lost Cherry.
I’ll be honest, before I even opened up the tube I was already fawning over the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Lost Cherry because of how gorgeous the packaging is. On the outside, all Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks look the same, a stunning rose gold embossed bullet with a “CT” logo on the lid. It’s a chic, vintage-inspired look and the bullets themselves have a decent amount of weight so they feel heavier and more luxurious.
The Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Lost Cherry, like the rest of the Matte Revolution shades, has a lipstick bullet with a unique square tip to it. It also has a delicious sweet vanilla scent, and thankfully no taste. Lost Cherry is a bright pink coral with nearly opaque coverage.
Despite the unusual bullet shade it’s still very easy to apply the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Lost Cherry, which is something I was initially concerned about. On the lips, it’s definitely more pink on me, but I do think my lip swatch is a bit off in terms of color-accuracy and my full face photo is better. It has a velvety texture that applies smoothly and perfect to the lips.
Although described as matte, the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Lost Cherry has a slight sheen to it, but that does fade over time, or you can blot it down after application. It’s extremely comfortable to wear, comparable to my cream lipsticks, although as a result it’s not as long-wearing as some of those super-drying mattes. But honestly, I’d much rather wear a comfortable shade like this!
While I’m always more likely to pick up the neutrals in a shade range, the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Lost Cherry is absolutely perfect in packaging, formula, and wear. This is a luxury lipstick and it both looks and acts like one. So yeah, I’m going to need Bond Girl and Amazing Grace from the lineup next…
Have you tried any lipsticks from Charlotte Tilbury? I’ll have a review of the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. formula up soon, and it’s just as lovely, so I can’t wait to try the new Hot Lips next!
