It’s kinda perfect that my first post after a hectic week in which I was too busy to post is to share a couple products that make makeup–in this case, highlighting and contouring–quicker and easier for you to do. I definitely need all the help I can get, and the Burberry Face Contour Effortless Contouring Pen and Burberry Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen are pretty much foolproof.
The Burberry Face Contour Effortless Contouring Pen and Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen both come in a slender, twist up crayon packaging. The packaging for the Contour is matte, while the Highlighter is glossy, making them easy to tell apart. These are perfect for travel and touch ups.
The amount of product that the Burberry Face Contour Effortless Contouring Pen (0.05 oz) and Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen (0.04 oz) contain is quite small so I definitely recommend using these products for targeted areas only, rather than your entire face. I used the Contour for a full face for this post and definitely noticed that I had started to make a dent in the product. They have a rounded tip that’s fairly small, so it’s easy to apply precisely, and the no-need to sharpen at least means no wasted product.
Burberry Face Contour Effortless Contouring Pen Face & Eyes in No. 01 Medium is a warm medium brown with a semi-sheer, velvety finish. It has a very creamy consistency that is easily blendable and looks very natural when applied. Although I generally think of contours as being cooler-toned, but this shade still works for me. It gives a very natural, sculpted look. It’s also available in No. 02 Dark for darker skin tones.
The Burberry Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen in No. 01 Nude Radiance is a gorgeous champagne shimmer which is not at all sparkly and blends into the skin for a very natural glow to the skin. If you are looking for a more subtle highlight that helps bright the skin with a lovely sheen, this is definitely worth looking into.
In the above before/after I applied both the Burberry Face Contour Effortless Contouring Pen and Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen. While I can definitely tell the difference when the photos are side-by-side, these products give the kind of natural glow and contour that you might not otherwise recognize. My cheekbones just look a little more sculpted, and there’s a hint of sheen on the bridge of my nose.
Although I did use the products on my full face, as I said, I do recommend sticking to targeted areas given the amount of product they contain. Lasting power was about average for a cream, 5-6 hours when they are not topped with a setting powder or spray.
Overall, if you are looking for a convenient way to sculpt and highlight precisely and naturally, or even just reapply on-the-go, it’s definitely worth looking into the Burberry Face Contour Effortless Contouring Pen and Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen.
When it comes to contouring and highlighting, do you go bold or do you prefer a more natural look? What do you think of these products?
