The Body Shop Honeymania is a brand new scent, and because I love honey, it immediately caught my interest. So much so that I had already purchased two products from the collection (the Bubble Bath Melt and the Shower Gel) before two more were sent to me for review (Honeymania Soap* and Honeymania Eau de Toilette*) so I decided to wait and test out all four products so I can do one giant batch of reviews for you guys today on the different products in The Body Shop Honeymania line in case you are interested in checking it out.
Okay there’s something very important that I have to tell you about The Body Shop Honeymania line––it doesn’t smell like honey. At least not the honey scent you think of immediately, as it is pretty floral. According to The Body Shop this scent is because the Sheka honey they organically harvest from the Ethiopian rainforest “has has a distinctive floral taste and smell because of the wildflowers the bees visit to make the honey.” It’s definitely a scent I really like (though admittedly I am more obsessed with The Body Shop Brazil Nut at the moment) but it’s not a straightforward honey scent.
The Body Shop Honeymania Bubble Bath Melt is actually a brand new product for the Body Shop, or at least I’ve never seen a Bubble Bath from them before, so I instantly had to grab this during a 50% off promo. I love my bubble baths! It’s rich and creamy and a pretty generous size, at $12 for 300 mL, and like I said, The Body Shop is always having promos. I found it a bit awkward to pour into my bath, although I guess it is so thick it might not work well in a squeeze bottle. I was a bit afraid of dumping it all in, but it does poorly slowly so I was okay. I felt like I needed more product than I expected, but that might just be cause it’s hard to tell how much you’re adding. That said, it gave me amazing bubbles and very light scent.
The Body Shop Honeymania Shower Gel has the same scent, and I actually find it to be stronger than the other bath products so if you’re looking for something a little more subtle I’d stick with the bar soap. I think The Body Shop makes great shower gels, although it’s not a product I am incredibly picky about, I like that they aren’t too runny and they lather nicely. My skin also always feels nice afterwards, maybe because their shower gels are also soap-free.
I am always surprised by how much I like bar soaps when I actually try them, and The Body Shop Honeymania Soap was no exception. Like I said, the fragrance on this is lighter than the shower gel, but you can definitely still notice it. Plus, it’s got an adorable honey comb shape although mine arrived a tiny bit dented. I think this would make a great gift, it’s a huge bar (doesn’t even properly fit in my soap dish) and the smell is really nice. I actually think I prefer this to the shower gel, which is shocking for me.
Finally, there’s The Body Shop Honeymania Eau de Toilette which comes in the perfect size of 30 mL. I keep buying massive 100 mL perfumes and never finishing them, so I really just love the size of these ones. Plus, while there full price $14 (still quite reasonable) you can usually find a sale that makes them much cheaper. I grabbed the Brazil Nut one for only $7. The scent of The Body Shop Honeymania works well as a perfume, it’s light and overwhelming, although I would consider it better for the summertime. The lasting power is pretty good, maybe 6 hours, so I would reapply once during the day though the small size makes it quite portable as well.
Overall, The Body Shop Honeymania collection was a hit for me. The scent is lovely and although I would prefer this for summer and The Body Shop Brazil Nut for winter, I think people looking for something a little less food-like or fruity than many of The Body Shop scents should definitely check out this line. I love owning multiple products from the same line because I can layer them all together, bubble bath, soap and perfume, and I think that combination makes a great holiday gift as well (although The Body Shop also sells a lot of prepackaged gifts too).
Have you tried out The Body Shop Honeymania? Let me know what you think! It wasn’t what I expected from honey, but like I said, I ended up really liking it.
