The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Reed Diffuser

Out of all my Christmas-themed items, there was one that sadly did not get a review in time for the holidays, and that’s The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Reed Diffuser*. Although it is no longer available online, you may be able to find it at a local store, and you can still grab the Cranberry Joy scent online as well.

The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Reed Diffuser 3I admit I didn’t have super high expectations for The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Reed Diffuser, because if you read my previous review on a reed diffuser, a Demeter Fragrance Cinnamon Bun* one, I just didn’t have much luck with them. I wish I could say this experience went differently.

I really love the packaging of The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Reed Diffuser, and I have mine sitting out and it looks gorgeous. It’s not resealable friendly like the Demeter one, but it certainly looks lovely and would make a great gift for that reason. The scent is also very nice, a more traditional ginger scent like I shared in my review of the Ginger Sparkle Hand Cream*. However the main problem is that I just don’t find the scent fills up the room.

As before, maybe the issue is that my living room (which is open concept with my kitchen) is just too big a room. I can see the oil evaporating (although I will say I find the diffuser quite long-lasting, I have had it over a month and there is still a ton of oil left), but unless I’m standing very very close, I just don’t notice it.

I am a huge fan of the store, but when it comes to The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Reed Diffuser, it is not something I would rebuy. However, they also sell Home Fragrance Oils that you use in a burner, and I have had much much better luck with these in the past and would recommend them if, like me, you don’t have much success with reed diffusers. Maybe eventually I’ll find one that works for me, but in the meantime, at least this one looks very pretty!

Do you have a success story with a reed diffuser to share? Do these things ever work? I honestly am starting to doubt it!
