So, as I shared yesterday, this is going to be a week full of indie polish swatches and I’m starting off with Black Sheep Lacquer Vision in Blue, a complex and gorgeous glittery shade.
I decided to layer Black Sheep Lacquer Vision in Blue over four different bases to see how it looked, because it was hard to tell from the bottle how sheer it would be. My index finger is 4 coats of the polish by itself, middle finger is 2 coats over white, then 2 coats over black, and finally on my pinkie nail there are two coats over navy.
I find the difference between layering Black Sheep Lacquer Vision in Blue over black or navy is minimal, and both combinations are definitely my favourites of the bunch. This is a polish that is incredibly heavy on the glitter, so removal isn’t going to be easy, and using a base colour helps with that. It also helps prolong the life of your beautiful bottle of indie glitter when you don’t have to pile 4 coats on just to get opacity. That said, it is definitely possible to layer to opacity and hide VNL with 3-4 coats if you want a full-fledged glitter fingernail party. Cause that’s definitely a thing.
Black Sheep Lacquer Vision in Blue is a pretty sheer blue jelly that according to its description includes 10 different glitters in navy blue, turquoise and silvers. I didn’t count them all, but just looking at the polish, I believe it!Unsurprisingly, this was a thick polish with all that glitter, but that meant there was no fishing necessary and it gave great, sparkly coverage. It also definitely wasn’t so thick as to be unmanageable.
Overall, I was really happy with my first indie experience! I especially love Black Sheep Lacquer Vision in Blue because it almost gives a galaxy effect over dark colours, and it’s jam-packed with way more different types of glitter than you’d ever find in a drugstore polish. If you’re interested in checking out Black Sheep Lacquer you can visit the Etsy shop here and Erin often runs great promos.

Note: I received a blogger discount when purchasing this polish. However I always provide my honest opinion regardless of the source of a product.
