So after splashing out on the Becca Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed (see the rest of my Sephora Haul here) I figured the least I could do was review it here. Because then I’ve purchased it “for the blog” and not just because it was super pretty and I wanted it. Keep reading to help me use this justification in the future!
Although I’ve had my eye on Moonstone for approximately Forever, I’ve managed to resist because I figure it would always be around. In comparison, the Becca Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed is limited edition, part of a collaboration with Jaclyn Hill–who, I have to admit, I’ve actually never watched. It was when I saw the swatches of this highlighter that I fell in love, because the peachy, golden undertones seemed like an even better match for my light, warm skin colour than Moonstone and before I knew it the Sephora order was complete. I have no regrets.
The Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed are come in the same round compacts with silver and matte rubber black, and they actually kinda remind me of UFOs. The only thing that distinguishes this collaboration from the permanent products is the box and the transparent insert. The compact itself feels pretty sturdy and has a mirror on the lid, but I probably wouldn’t travel with it because the product inside is quite delicate.
The Becca Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed is a very finely milled, soft, highlighter with loads of shimmer–I definitely apply it using a gentle touch and a fan brush! The peachy, white gold shade looks fantastic on my skin tone, but it actually also looks great on every one else I’ve seen review it. I’m still figuring out exactly the best way to apply it because I feel like my fan brush is great for picking up product but not perfect for blending it in. If you have any suggestions I’d love to hear, I often use a cream highlighter so I’m a bit new to this.
Above are two times when I wore the Becca Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed recently. I included two photos because it is really hard to capture on camera, but in person it gives a really lovely glow, that you can easily build up for a more luminous look if you want. It blends gorgeous, so I think it’s super versatile. I’m also pretty happy with the wear, as it does last longer than my blush and I can still see it at the end of a work day, although it starts to fade afterwards (about 8 hours, depending how much work I feel like doing!).
Well, I wish I could say my highlighter thirst was quenched after picking up the Becca Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed, but all it’s done is convince me I want Moonstone as well because this one is so pretty. Although it is currently out of stock at Sephora, they may restock or you may be able to find it in store. If you do, it’s pretty clear what my opinion is on what you should do next is…
Has highlighting won you over yet? I’m really loving adding a little glow to my face these days, especially since I work in an office with no windows so the only way I’ll get it is from a pan!
