Beauty Box 5 November 2013 Review

I’ve been pretty happy with Beauty Box 5 lately, not everything in the boxes blow me away, but with a yearlong subscription it only works out to about $8.25 a box and I definitely get enough enjoyment out of them (even just the fun beauty surprise in the mail factor) for it to be worth that. I knew there were a lot of repeat brands in the Beauty Box 5 November Box, but I was still quite excited to see what I’d get.

Like the last couple months (see my Beauty Box 5 October Review) the Beauty Box 5 November box contained a product information card with the theme “prep. primp. sparkle.” I have basically given up on themes in these boxes, so I’m not going to bother connecting the items to it, but it’s still a nice, glossy card with info about your specific box which I appreciate.

My Beauty Box 5 November box came with five items this month and technically FOUR of them were full-sized! I wouldn’t pay the full retail value for all of them, but I still think that’s an awesome box for the cheapest beauty subscription around. Now here’s what was inside.

Be a Bombshell Cosmetics Eye Crayon in Angel Eyes (Full size, $14)

Your makeup routine just got a little easier with these glossy-finish eye crayons! For best application, start at the inner corner of the eye and work across. Stop just shy of the outer corner and blend with your finger.

I do like eye crayons so I was excited by this but a) it arrived damaged (although not so bad that I’ll complain) and b) I’m really not sure how much use I’ll get out of white, but I’ll have to try it for the inner corner and see how it lasts.

A second white shadow in one beauty box? Eek. That’s a bit much for me, and much like the last Bellapierre product we received, I don’t see myself getting much use out of this because it’s super shimmery and I don’t have any experience with loose pigments. It is a full size product though which is always nice.

Side note: 99% sure there’s a typo in on the label–– “exite”?

beauty box 5 november 7Aveeno Positively Nourishing Calming Body Wash ($6.99 for 16 fl oz, sample size: 2 fl oz/$0.88)

This creamy, moisturizing body wash will leave your skin feeling soft and smooth while also calming your senses.

I was actually surprised by this because I don’t consider myself a strong floral/lavender fan but it smells really nice and looks quite creamy, so although body wash is basically the last thing I need, I’m sure I’ll enjoy this when I use it.

beauty box 5 november 8Blum Oil Absorbing Facial Tissues ($2.99, Full Size)

Keep shiny skin at bay (and leave your makeup intact!) with these powderless, oil-absorbing facial tissues. Bonus: these babies are free of parabens and alcohol!

Well, I definitely don’t need oil sheets in November, but it’s a decent size package for your purse so I guess a useful okay item although I feel like you see these a ton in beauty boxes and I really don’t use them that much. There was another Beauty Box 5 November Box I saw that came with a full sized Secret deodorant and a coupon for a second one as well, and I am really jealous I didn’t get that instead 🙁

Montagn Jeunesse Glacial Facial Mask ($2.49, Full Size)

Cleanse pores and strengthen your skin’s natural barriers with this mud-infused fabric mask. Just open, unfold, and place on cleansed skin for 10-15 minutes.

This is actually the item I am most excited about in the Beauty Box 5 November Box. It sounds great and I’ve heard good things about this brand so I can’t wait to test it out! I think face masks are great for beauty boxes, because they are easy to use or share, and I’m always curious to try different ones.

I swatched the eye crayon on the left and the shimmer powder on the right, apparently the Beauty Box 5 November box is all about a white sparkly eye for me! It does remind me of snow…

beauty box 5 november 3

The total value I calculate for my Beauty Box 5 November box is $35.35 which is not bad considering even at the highest cost you’d pay ($12) that is about 3 times the value. I definitely find that you get a good value with a BB5 subscription. If you’re interested you can check out the rest of my Beauty Box 5 Reviews here.
