I know it’s just barely time to talk fall, but I have what I think is a perfect winter scent, the Avon Imari Elixir Eau de Toilette Spray*. This fragrance is one of three created by Avon to celebrate 30 years of Imari fragrance, but while the two others, Imari and Imari Seduction, are simply presented in new packaging, Avon Imari Elixir is a brand new scent.
All three Imari scents have similar bottles, with the namesake Imari being red, Imari Seduction being Purple, and of course Avon Imari Elixir having a predominately black colour scheme. The bottle itself has a very sleek look, but I do find that the plastic cap looks fairly cheap in person, although it is an inexpensive fragrance.
In terms of scent, the Avon Imari Elixir Eau de Toilette Spray is very strong on initial spray–it’s the kind of fragrance I would spray into the air and then walk through, so I don’t find it as overwhelming, although it’s still a bit too much for me. The scent is a warm mix of blackberry, rose, and vanilla that’s fruity, sweet, and a tiny bit musky too. As I said, to me this is a winter or night-time fragrance, it gives you a rich, dark, almost mysterious scent that lasts a very long time.
It’s pretty impressive to imagine that Avon has been making Imari scents for 30 years, that’s when you know something’s a classic. Although Avon Imari Elixir Eau de Toilette Spray is a bit overwhelming for me, it’s a great choice if you’re looking for a powerful, rich, scent with sweet, warm and juicy notes it.
Have you ever tried any of the Imari scents?
