ARTDECO is a brand I have not tried before but I was really excited to, as the German brand has attracted my attention before with some of its beautiful packaging. Luckily, it’s now available in select Shoppers Drug Marts, including their bright and waterproof Miami Collection for Summer 2014. I was able to try out two of the products for eyes, the ARTDECO Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeshadow Sticks in American Girl (No. 38)* and the ARTDECO All in One Mascara Waterproof in Black*.
I love everything in a pencil format (assuming they twist up!), and that includes eyeshadows, so I was interested to try ARTDECO’s take on the product. I received the ARTDECO Miami Collection: Long-Lasting Eyeshadow Stick in American Girl (No.38) which is a pale pink with a silvery shimmer to it. It’s very creamy and you can blend it, but it will set, which is no surprise given that they product is waterproof! How perfect for summer.

ARTDECO Long-Lasting Eyeshadow Stick in American Girl was long-lasting, however it did crease a bit. This specific shade isn’t one I’d wear it on its own much but topped with powder shadows, or blended with some of the other shades from the collection could be very pretty! I also applied the ARTDECO All in One Mascara Waterproof in Black on my left eye only (don’t worry I added it to the other eye before leaving the house!).
ARTDECO All in One Mascara is an incredibly black mascara, but it can also clump a bit. However, in terms of lasting power, this mascara is AMAZING. It lasted all day even when it was really hot and gross out, and despite the waterproof label it wasn’t even that bad to remove (easier than one of my favourite mascaras, Benefit They’re Real!) It isn’t over-the-top but it does add an oomph to the the lashes so it’s a good choice for any days that require a waterproof, long-lasting choice.
I’m really glad I got a chance to try out the ARTDECO Miami Collection, and I’m definitely interested in trying more products from the brand. Especially more of the eyeshadow sticks!
Have you tried ARTDECO before? Let me know what you think of this little taste of the Miami Collection?
