I’ve been trying out a bunch of different base products lately so there are a few more reviews to come–but how satisfying are those before/after shots? Today’s post features the Anna Sui Protective BB Cream 01 Light Beige, which is perfect if you’re looking for a BB Cream with more coverage than a tinted moisturizer and a really flattering natural finish.
I’ve tried a few Anna Sui makeup products in the past for the lips including a lipstick and lipglosses (and I also love her fragrance!) but this was my first time testing out a face product. The Anna Sui Protective BB Cream 01 Light Beige comes in an opaque, squeeze tube with an ornate black rose cap that fits perfect with the Anna Sui aesthetic. I always find Anna Sui to have really gorgeous packaging. The tube itself is a bit smaller than average (21 mL instead of 30 mL) but I never finish foundation anyway so it works fine for me.
The Anna Sui Protective BB Cream has a strong rose fragrance which I think is common across most Anna Sui products (including the nail polish!) However as strong as the fragrance is, I did not find it noticeable after about 30 minutes of wear. It is worth smelling in person if you are super sensitive to fragrance.
I have the Anna Sui Protective BB Cream 01 Light Beige but it is also available in Medium Beige. Generally, I find that limited shade ranges mean that the lighter shades aren’t that light. However, while two shades aren’t going to suit everyone, Light Beige is quite fair and a perfect match for my skin.
Applied to the face the Anna Sui Protective BB Cream 01 Light Beige really evens out my skintone and gives a soft, slightly ‘blurred’ effect to the skin. It’s very comfortable to wear and I find it fairly long-lasting. It has a semi-matte finish and much higher coverage than I’m used to for a BB Cream although you do get some added skincare benefits in comparison to a light coverage foundation including Lychee Seed Extract to moisturize.
Overall, I really love the Anna Sui Protective BB Cream 01 Light Beige! If you are looking for a BB Cream with enough coverage to even out skintone while still being really comfortable to wear I think this is a great option! I’m definitely wanting to try more products from Anna Sui in the future.
