When it comes to unique makeup packaging, I don’t any brand can really compare to Anna Sui, which is why her new line of lipsticks instantly caught my attention. They are available in four shades of pink, and the one I have is the Anna Sui Lipstick G in Rose Pink*.
The lipstick bullet for the Anna Sui Lipstick G in Rose Pink is translucent red and inspired by Anna Sui’s signature flower and the cut glass lamps in her home. Both inspirations are easily visible, and there’s a black base with stars on it. Even the lipstick itself is shaped like a shooting star!
The Anna Sui Lipstick G formula is meant to be sheer and prismatic, using an nourishing oil base and reducing the use of wax to maximize the effect of the glitter. Anna Sui Lipstick G in Rose Pink is a sheer pinky rose shade loaded with sparkle. I’ve had no difficulty applying the shade despite the unusual shape of the lipstick.
Even though the base is smooth, there’s enough glitter in the Anna Sui Lipstick G in Rose Pink that I can feel it a bit on the lips, which isn’t my favourite feeling. However the effect is quite stunning, especially in the sunlight like in the photo below. It brightens my natural lip colour and really glows. I love it!
In terms of wear, the moisturizing aspect only lasts an hour or two, but the sparkle in the Anna Sui Lipstick G in Rose Pink sticks around forever. I definitely still had some glitter on my lips that needed a second pass after removing my makeup.
The Anna Sui Lipstick G in Rose Pink is definitely not an every day lipstick for me, but it does make an impact and I bet it would be stunning for photoshoots or special occasions. Or just to display on your vanity because of how gorgeous it is. What do you think of the lipstick?
