When it comes to ornate, gorgeous and unique packaging, it’s hard to think of a brand that does it better than Anna Sui. I’m pretty obsessed with her perfume La Vie De Boheme (reviewed here) so when I had a chance to try out the makeup line I was pretty excited. I tested out two glosses, the Anna Sui Glittering Lip Gloss in 001* and the Protective Lip Gloss in 600*.
On all the glosses, the packaging involves an elaborate hand, a doefoot applicator, and a clear tube so you can see the shade inside. The handle is black for the Glittering Lip Gloss and white for the Protective ones. I have the Anna Sui Glittering Lip Gloss in 001, which is a transparent gloss with multicolour, iridescent shimmer to it. It definitely glitters! There are 12 shades in the line, and it is creamy on the lips–not at all gritty from the sparkle. It’s also not sticky, so it’s very comfortable to wear.
While there are nine shades total in the line, I have the Anna Sui Protective Lip Gloss in 600 which is a translucent coral that helps brighten up your lips without being too shocking. It has basically the same formula as the glittering shade, but it offers more pigment (that may vary depending on which one you have) and no sparkle. It is very shiny, and I think it helps make my lips look nicer than they are! The glosses have a light, pleasant scent to them and last about as long as you expect a gloss too–not more than a couple hours.
Overall, the Anna Sui Glittering Lip Gloss in 001 and Protective Lip Gloss in 600 have gorgeous packaging, and the glosses themselves are nice, but I am not totally blown away by the product itself. I am a bit of a lip gloss skeptic, and so it would take something really exciting to convert me. However, these are really nice glosses and quite comfortable to wear, so if you are looking to add to your lip gloss collection, they are worth checking out, because how pretty would one be to keep in your bag?
