Amie Naturally Kind Skincare is a UK skincare brand which cares about its ingredients. It is cruelty-free, natural (on average 95%) and free of harsh chemicals like parabens, mineral oils, petrochemicals and sodium laureth sulphates. Amie Naturally Kind Skincare is launching with 8 products, available only at Shoppers Drugmart, and the set I have includes four of those I was able to try out. Spoiler: After testing these four, I’m definitely interested in their other products as well!
The products from Amie Naturally Kind Skincare I tried out are the Exfoliating Daily Wash*, Deep Cleansing Mask*, Matte-Finish Moisturizer*, and Hydrating Daily Moisturizer*. You can also now pick up their Purifying Facial Wash, 2 in 1 Cleanser & Toner, Gentle Eye Make Up Remover and Cleansing Wipes, all for $12.00 or less.
I’ve been using the Radiant Dawn Exfoliating Daily Wash from Amie Naturally Kind Skincare for a couple weeks now, and I am really loving it for use in my shower. I talked about it briefly in my guest post on Ivory Avenue here, but it is a great combination between exfoliating and cleansing. Although it is gentle enough for daily use as long as you don’t scrub too forcefully, I definitely still recommend using a moisturizer afterwards (maybe one of the two I talk about in this post!) I really find using this helps make my skin feel fresh and cleaning, especially when combined with occasional use of the next product.
The Spring Clean Deep Cleansing Mask from Amie Naturally Kind Skincare is a a clay-based mask with a cooling effect and a minty scent. It is recommended for use once or twice a week, and I think that is appropriate as it can be a bit strong, although I personally don’t find it too intense but I don’t think it would be comfortable on sensitive skin. It did help draw impurities out of my skin, and like any clay mask, I definitely need some moisturizer afterwards. My skin really felt clean after using this mask!
I had two different moisturizers to try from Amie Naturally Kind Skincare, and the first one was great for daytime wear and that’s the Morning Dew Matte-Finish Moisturiser. This is a light moisturizer that absorbs well into my skin and does leave behind a matte finish. It works under a foundation and I think it helps slightly with keeping my skin matte, but areas that are generally oily like my nose weren’t flawless by the end of the day. It’s also not incredibly moisturizing, as I would expect, so I’m not sure how well this will work for me during colder months. That said, it’s still pretty warm here and it definitely works for me in this weather.
The final product I tried from Amie Naturally Kind Skincare is the Morning Light Hydrating Daily Moisturiser. This is understandably a heavier moisturizer than Matte-Finish and I don’t need too much to cover my whole face and neck. It’s still not incredibly intense, so I could get away with using it in the morning as well during the colder months, assuming I let it absorb in for a little while before applying any other products. If I used it at night, I would definitely combine it with a serum or oil.
I definitely enjoyed trying out Amie Naturally Kind Skincare, and I think my favourite product was the Radiant Dawn Exfoliating Daily Wash which will be a shower staple until I finish it up. I also really enjoyed Spring Clean Deep Cleansing Mask, and I appreciate the fact that both the mask and exfoliator came in tubes compared to similar products I have in pot-format. If you’re interested in a brand that affordable, careful about ingredients, and has some great staple products, definitely look into Amie Naturally Kind Skincare next time you’re at Shoppers Drug Mart.
