It’s been a long time since I did a mascara review! But since I’d already taken these photos for my social media post (hi Instagram, come visit me over here…) I thought I’d share them on my blog as well. So here are my thoughts on the Almay One Coat Mega Volume Mascara, a new release with an unusual brush.
The Almay One Coat Mega Volume Mascara has pretty standard packaging, although I do love how metallic the cap is. The unusual part of the mascara is the “megaphone” shaped brush. The idea is you can use it like a normal mascara wand, but also use the flared end on your outer lashes for added drama. I’ve got to admit, I am liable enough to poke myself in the eye with a mascara wand as it is, so I am a bit cautious of this feature and mostly just use it like a normal brush.
In terms of formula, I wasn’t a huge fan of the Almay One Coat Mega Volume Mascara because I do not like wet formulas. This is really wet and I’m hoping that after a few weeks of use it will dry out and I will like it better. If you are a fan wet formulas–the Maybelline Lash Sensational comes to mind–then this is a good option to check out, but it is not my favourite. The results are long, black lashes, but I didn’t feel it added that much formula.
As much as I appreciate innovation in makeup products, I didn’t feel like the results of the Almay One Coat Mega Volume Mascara were super revolutionary. However, if you are a fan of wet formulas this is a good option, that’s also described as safe for sensitive eyes.
Have you fallen in love with any mascaras lately?
